Meet Your Board Member……Jean Farrar, Extension Committee Chair

Jean has served as a PTA leader for over twenty years.  She is the proud mother of a son, Nicholas, 31, who currently lives and works in Brazil; and two daughters, Hilary, 29, and Lexie, 23, who both live and work in Northern Virginia.  She lives in Newport News with her very supportive husband of 33 years, George.  She works part-time as a legal assistant.

She has served as a local unit president at the elementary, middle and high school level and as the Newport News Council President and most recently as the Peninsula District Director.  When asked why she continues to volunteer for PTA, she responds that not only is it her passion but that she believes in the strong power of PTA advocacy and the difference it is making for children around the country.
