Parent Educational Advocacy Training Center (PEATC)

PEATC is seeking interested persons who are willing to serve in a governance capacity of the Parent Educational Advocacy Training Center (PEATC). Parents of school aged children with disabilities are especially encouraged to serve to guide the direction of the organization ensuring the diverse interests of families across the Commonwealth are addressed in the annual plan. Directors’ primary duties are to assume responsibility for fiduciary oversight and governance and are bound by their legal obligations: the duties of care, loyalty, and obedience.

Nominations Requested: Marketing Committee Chair, Virginia PTA

The Nominations and Leadership Development Committee (NLDC) of the Virginia PTA seeks a highly qualified candidate to serve as the Chair of the Marketing Committee. The marketing committee shall foster public awareness of Virginia PTA goals and programs.

The committee shall work with the media and the communications committee to ensure that the Virginia PTA has a strong public image. The committee will develop appropriate public relations and communications tools to inform the membership and public about the mission and programs of the PTA and also work with districts, councils, and local units to generate and publicize opportunities to promote PTA across the state.

In order to be considered for this position a completed nomination packet must be received on or before June 1, 2012.

Diversity & Inclusion Training Grant Application Due

Diverse HandsIn an effort to recruit and train a more diverse group of leaders which will lead to a more inclusive PTA, the Virginia PTA Diversity and Inclusion Committee is offering a grant opportunity to local unit leaders for attendance to our Annual Conference – Leadership Training and Annual Meeting on July 12-14, 2012.
