Background Checks for Volunteers
RESOLVED That the Virginia PTA supports state legislation that would require background check(s) for all volunteers working with children; and be it further
RESOLVED That the Virginia PTA supports legislation that requires State or School Divisions to fully fund such background check(s).

The Impact of School Start Times on Student Health
RESOLVED The Virginia PTA shall encourage its constituent districts, councils and local unit members to educate their local school boards and superintendents on the importance of quality sleep and positive impact that later school start times would have on the health, safety and productivity of teens; and bit further
RESOLVED The Virginia PTA shall encourage other state PTAs to adopt similar resolutions; and be it further
RESOLVED The Virginia PTA shall encourage the National PTA to examine the subject of later school start times for teens and to consider a nationwide education program about the importance of sleep, particularly as it relates to teens and school schedules.

Obscene and Pornographic Internet Materials
RESOLVED The Virginia PTA and its constituents support the Office of the Attorney General of the Commonwealth of Virginia in the development and implementation of an Internet Safety program; and be if further
RESOLVED The Virginia PTA and its constituents establish a partnership with Enough is Enough in the development and implementation of the Internet Safety 101:Empowering Parents program in Virginia; and be it further
RESOLVED That Virginia PTA encourages its constituent associations to support the implementation and education of the program in their communities.
