Organizing
a Local Unit:
Although
most PTAs are organized in schools, PTAs can also be
organized in pre-schools, apartment complexes, industrial
plants, and other places where parents wish to meet to
promote children's welfare.
A
high school or group can organize a PTSA (Parent-Teacher-Student-Association)
which allows students in grades 9-12 to become members.
Any
parent, school principal or other school official, or
interested person may take the first step toward organizing
a parent-teacher association.
