Increasing Local Unit Dues

An increase in dues must be approved by the general membership. However, the total actual amount of dues per member is no longer required to be recorded in local unit bylaws eliminating the need to amend local unit bylaws each time there is a dues increase. Any change in the amount of the state or national dues would be updated through state or national bylaws amendments or adjusted during the 5-year local unit revision process.

The total dues collected by a local unit includes the portion the local unit pays and the total paid to the state and national PTA.
