The Commonwealth PTA opened for statewide membership upon its establishment at the 1998 Virginia PTA/PTSA Convention in Williamsburg. This statewide local unit was formed to perform great deeds for the youth of the Old Dominion!

During Commonwealth PTA’s first annual meeting, July 1999, at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, plans for an aggressive membership campaign were adopted, Charter Memberships were offered, and projections were made for the potential impact of this very special PTA unit.
