National PTA has released the chair packet and other documents relating to the 2009-2010 Reflections Program. Check them out in the Library. Get a jump start on the Fall program by distributing the information to your students and parents prior to the end of the year. Summer break is a great time to work on a project!

Register for your Back-to-School Kit TODAY!

To date over 2,500 PTAs have already registered for their kit. If your unit has not received a postcard or e-mail about registering for the kit with a personalized URL (PURL), below is the FAQ about how they can very easily register for their kit. PTAs do not need to have received a postcard with the PURL to be able to order their kit – they just need the link below or to call the PTA Headquarters Office.

Q: I don’t have a PURL; can I still get a kit?

A: To order the kit without a personalized URL (PURL), go to the online order form (http://www.pta.org/ptakit_register), or call the PTA Information Center at (800) 307-4782 during regular business hours. You will need your unit ID number and will need to confirm that you are authorized to order the kit for your unit.

The Virginia PTA is continuing the fight to keep whatever cuts are made to K-12 public education funding from being permanent. During these economic difficulties, cuts may be needed. But, as we begin to move out of a recession, funding needs to be restored and enhanced.
