The Virginia PTA Bulletin

The Virginia PTA Bulletin is the official print publication of the state PTA. State office staff serves as copy editor under the supervision of the Public Relations Committee and the President.

Materials included in the Bulletin are related to the work of the PTA and written by members of the Board of Manager’s or individual PTA members and reprinted from the National PTA materials available on their web site or in the National PTA Annual Resource Guide, the Virginia PTA/PTSA Local Unit Resource Guide and local unit, council and district newsletters. Materials are also reprinted from other organizations with permission.

The Bulletin is published quarterly:

Fall Quarter (/Sept/Oct/Nov)
Winter Quarter (Dec/Jan/Feb)
Spring Quarter (Mar/Apr/May)
Summer Quarter (June/July/August)

Local units, councils and districts are encouraged to share their newsletters with the Bulletin Editor and Webmaster. Anyone may submit an article for the Bulletin. Issue related topics will be forwarded to the appropriate Committee Chair for consideration. Articles sharing ideas and programs will be printed in the “PTA On Parade” section. The Bulletin Editor and Webmaster reserves the right to edit all materials. The state President has the final approval on all materials printed in all official publications. The Bulletin is currently published with Adobe Pagemaker, a desktop publishing software product.

The Virginia PTA Bulletin is a print newsletter published quarterly. Each local unit received five (5) FREE copies. One copy automatically goes to the school principal. The remaining four (4) copies are distributed to the local unit as indicated on the Bulletin Distribution Form which must be submitted annually to the State Office. Councils receive four (4) free copies.

All PTA members can read the Bulletin issues in PDF in Membership Library.  Non-PTA members can contact the State Office or email info@vapta.org to find out how to subscribe.

Local unit, council or district newsletter editors or webmasters can contact the Office Administrator at the State Office, info@vapta.org, to request electronic copies of any article in the Bulletin for PTA use.  
Local unit webmasters who wish to link to public pages on www.vapta.org can link directly to a page. If they wish to link to information in Membership Library, it is best to link only to www.vapta.org with instructions on how to request the password and find the information in Membership Library. Otherwise each page will be prompted for the password, which can be confusing to a new user.
