Earth Day

In 1990, the National PTA recognized the importance of the environment to the health and safety of our children and designated the week in which Earth Day (April 22) falls as Earth Week. During Earth Week, PTA members across the country focus their attention on the environment and plant the seeds of change so that environmental awareness and concern grows from a once-a-year activity to a year-round attitude. This brochure contains ideas and suggestions for PTAs to celebrate National PTA Earth Week in their homes, schools, and communities.
