Field Service Task Force

The Virginia PTA is pleased to announce the formation of the Field Service Task Force and Field Service Training Team. The purposes of the task force and training team include providing leadership training to all PTA leaders and potential leaders and to equip them with the organizational skills and knowledge they need to be successful.

The Field Service Task Force will have a large impact on the future success of the Virginia PTA. The Task Force consists of one local unit representative appointed by the state president from each of the six PTA regions across the state. These representatives do not serve on the Virginia PTA Board of Managers but will serve on the task force as representatives from local units. Some of the task force responsibilities will include selecting members to serve on the Field Service Training Team, assisting in organization training sessions in all areas of the state, assisting in developing training modules to be used by members of the Field Service Training Team in training sessions, developing resources to be distributed to schools organizing a PTA, and assisting District Directors in meeting the needs of local units within their districts. The task force will provide an opportunity for local unit representatives to provide input in state leadership training and services provided to local units across the state.

Members of a Field Service Training Team, who are selected by the Field Service Task Force and approved by the VA PTA Executive Committee, will present the leadership training. The team will consist of members from across the state, current and past state board members, and non-board members. Trainers will use approved training modules in order to ensure that consistency in leadership training is provided throughout the state. Training team members will be versed in all areas and possess skills needed for effective workshop presentations.

We encourage local unit and council members who are interested in serving on the Field Service Training Team to complete the attached application.
