The Department of Education, in collaboration with the Governor's Office for Substance Abuse Prevention (GOSAP), is conducting workshops on gang prevention using the risk and protective factors prevention framework. Thirty workshops are to be held in localities throughout the next year. The target audiences for the workshop include school division administrators, principals, assistant principals, guidance counselors, school resource officers, personnel working in juvenile justice, probation officers, and others interested in gang prevention.

The one-day workshops are free of charge. Lunch and breaks are included. Space is limited to 50 participants per workshop. Check-in begins at 8:00 AM. Workshops start at 8:30 AM and conclude by 5:00 PM.

To register, please visit the DCJS Training & Events page. To ensure adequate space for each participant, and to decrease travel expenses, participants are asked to attend the workshop being offered closest to their area.
