Education Committee 
Stella Edwards, Education Chairperson
The
state Education Committee acts as a clearinghouse for information
by keeping abreast of trends in education.
The
state committee will:
- Monitor
and report on monthly meetings of the State Board of
Education.
- Foster
an ongoing dialogue with Department of Education officials
and educational associations.
- Prepare
and give testimony when necessary at Board of Education
meetings and public hearings in accordance with PTA positions.
- Promote
and foster parental involvement in the education of children
and youth.
Local
units are to:
- Monitor
and report on local school board meetings
- Foster
an ongoing dialogue with school administration officials,
both at the school site and division-wide.
- Coordinate
local unit activities and position statements with the
PTA Council.
- Promote
and foster parental involvement in the education of children
and youth.
