Kersey Creek ES Teacher Receives "Thank You" Vacation

Congratulations Angie Dalton, a special education teacher from Kersey Creek Elementary School in Mechanicsville. She, along with thousands of Virginia educators, received thank-you notes during Virginia Lottery's "Thank a Teacher" campaign PLUS... on June 3, she won a four-day, three-night Virginia-themed vacation courtesy of the Lottery and the Virginia Tourism Corporation. Angie has a choice of taking a beach-lovers, mountain-lovers or wine-lovers vacation!

Nearly 30,000 thank-you notes were distributed by Lottery during the "Thank a Teacher" campaign which coincided with National Teacher Appreciation Week (May 2-6).

When teachers received the thank-you notes, they could use a unique web code on the note to enter for the grand prize. Along with the top prize won by Ms. Dalton, a second prize of $500 and third prize of $250 were also awarded.

The "Thank a Teacher" campaign is a first-time partnership between the Virginia Lottery, the Virginia Tourism Corporation and the Virginia PTA. It's a forum to celebrate those teachers whose hard work and inspiration have made a difference in so many lives.
